The role

As the eCommerce Lead, you'll hire and lead a 10 person team, both remotely and in Toronto, to drive a pivotal strategic product that will propel our platform’s next phase of growth. Together, we will be building a fully integrated headless eCommerce solution from the ground up. This platform integration will not only rival market leaders but will blow past them with a plug-and-play strategy to integrate into CMS platforms and offer true omnichannel solutions for everyone.

 


Responsibilities
  • development of complex e-commerce  ecosystem  with a focus on PHP & ElasticSearch & JS
  • ensures efficiency and the highest quality (code standards, quality standards, processes, code reviews, quality management)
  • ensure the further development of our own tech stack (software, tests, systems, frameworks, deployment pipelines, automation, scaling ...)
  • develop backend architecture and database connections as well as interface concepts & integrate best practice
  • accompanies the developers professionally in terms of qualifications, code reviews / quality management
  • you optimize processes by bringing in your own ideas and experiences
  • conducts recruitment and feedback interviews

 


Ideal Candidate Description

Basic requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as Software Developer
  • Experience in complex web applications and online shop systems as well as a passion for innovation. eCommerce industry experience will be beneficial.
  • Enthusiasm for programming, curiosity & thirst for knowledge
  • Desire to think outside the box (e.g. app development, other shop systems ...)
  • Good knowledge of agile software development and the current QA standards, software architecture in the PHP environment, OOP and design patterns
  • Programming languages: PHP (Laravel), SQL, HTML/ CSS, JavaScript
  • Safe handling of Linux systems, MySQL, frameworks  & Git as a version control system

Advantage will be given to candidates who have a:

  • deep understanding of SOLID principles
  • familiarity with reactive JS programming (Vue.js, React)
  • familiarity with implementing third-party services
