• Change colour of Home Page header

    Hi Guys,

Using the Design option in Settings, I have been able to change the colour (color?) of the Header in all pages EXCEPT the home page. What do i need to do to change the colour of the Home page Header?

    Thanks

    Hi Jim:

Thanks for your question. I'm slightly puzzled by it. In the Design option in Settings is not where the colour choices reside. I think perhaps you are talking about changing the background for the header using the background button? This opens a work area in the left side bar similar to the Settings / Design options.

We have been doing some work on the Background buttons. There have been some issues where they sometimes don't appear on some pages (intermittent problem). Perhaps this is the issue you are experiencing - you are not seeing a button to click to change the background when on the home page. Let me know if that's the case. Also, if you can tell me which template you're using, I can see if I can replicate this issue.

Good news, though! We updated our code today with some improvements to backgrounds plus an advanced colour selection tool. Click on the new button called Advanced underneath the originial colour chart to select a custom colour.

Please let me know if today's code update has solved your issue for you or not. If not, it would really help me out if you can tell me what template you're using.

Thanks again for choosing Bookmark and for your patience while we're improving our site during Beta stage. Your questions are really helping us find the issues that we need to improve. Keep them coming!

    Cheers,

    -Jennifer

    Hi Jennifer,

Firstly, I am using Corporate Office template. By the way, my site is  incremental.bookmark.com  Dave has my login credentials if you want to have a look for yourself. (I won't post them on open forum!)

The colour swatch does appear in the Settings /Design option BUT what does not appear is the cutsie little box that says (from memory) HeaderBackground when I run my cursor over the top left of the header. If I draw the cursor down I do get a pop up box saying BodyBackground which presumably allows me to change the colour of the body.

However, having changed the colour of the other headers once, I no longer get a chance to change them again, so I am assuming this is the problem with the home page header background which I was messing around with before i went to change the other header colours.

Please feel free to log on yourself and have a look as it is just a test site to play around with the options.

    Sorry Jennifer,

The cutsie box says PageBackground not BodyBackground.

Hummm.... i seem to be having the same issue, i dont see the 'background' button on the header of my home page. also, for some reason my home page background button has disappeared also so i can't change that image either (although i had done it at one time... but it has reverted back to the default...?) anyhoo, my template is the 'ELENOR Design".

    Dear All,

I am guessing from my experience and the comment above that the background button only shows up once. If you have used it to change the background then it figures that its job is done and takes a holiday!!! :-)

Obviously, we would want to change the background several times to get to a point where the colour was acceptable!!

    Hi guys:

We have been having some intermittent issues with the background buttons not always appearing. They are meant to appear any time you hover over the area they cover. Fixing this issue is currently one of our top priorities and we hope to be able to push out an update very soon. Thanks for your patience!

In the meantime, it sometimes works to exit and then re-enter the page, or exit and re-enter the website builder. Sorry for the inconvenience. Again, we hope to have this working better soon. The background buttons seem to be more stable when using Chrome as your browser, so that might also help.

I'll post another message here when we've updated the code. Thanks again,
